Classically trained Chef Pascal Tenthorey returns to The Cheese Bar tonight with a winter menu to warm both the spirit and the body. This inspired menu will be served up with samples of perfectly paired beverage alcohol by our visiting product specialist:
Roasted Parsnip and Cheddar soup
Smoked Duck Breast Sliders
Stout Braised Short Ribs with caramelized onions, wilted greens, and garlic mash

Returning to The Cheese Bar tonight is Chef Lisa Powers of The Cake and Pastry Connection. Her home style approach to cooking makes you want to go home and plan a dinner for friends and family. Tonight’s menu is:

Although Chef Justin Harb of The House of Pad Thai only cooks Thai right now, that’s not how he started and probably (as with most chefs) not how he’ll finish his career. Sometimes when we challenge a chef to step out of their comfort zone is when we get the finest results. Tonight’s menu is worthy of wooing your Valentine this year…so, pay attention!

Comfort food can get us through the cold winter months…it can also add on unwanted pounds from the pasta, bread and potatoes that make up its traditional foundation. Tonight, Chef Eugene DiRocco meets the challenge of creating comfort food with none of those starchy ingredients.

Wednesday, March 4th, 7-9pm
Chef Lam Harb from House of Pad Thai visits The Cheese Bar tonight to demonstrate the ease of preparing four classic Thai dishes.
Classic Thai Spring Rolls with Pork ~ Ground Pork & veggies wrapped and fried crispy. Served with a sweet chili & plum sauce.
Tom Yum Goong Soup ~ Tiger shrimp, tomatoes, onions, bamboo, and mushrooms in a spicy coconut tamarind broth. Garnished cilantro & green onions.
Pad Thai with Chicken ~ Chicken, carrots, green onions, bean sprouts, and fried egg in a sweet & sour tamarind sauce. Garnished with crispy sprouts, toasted peanuts, and fresh lime wedge.
Sweet Banana in steamed Sticky Rice Parcels ~ Sundried banana steamed with sticky rice in banana leaves and drizzled with a luscious coconut syrup.
In addition, our product specialist will serve up sample sized pourings of beverage alcohol to show just how versatile Thai food can be for entertaining with friends and family.
Hands-on Sushi Rolling
Tuesday, March 24, 7-9pm
Asian cooking instructor Suzy Cui of “Cultural Cooking with Suzy Cui” on Your TV Windsor joins The Cheese Bar tonight to provide tips and tricks on making sushi rolls at home.
Tables will be set with all the necessary ingredients to roll perfect sushi (no raw fish tonight, for the sake of food safety). Suzy will work with each person, ensuring that by night’s end, you’ll feel super confident to make sushi at home. Learn how to make the perfect sushi rice, how to work with seaweed sheets and how to make simple, flavourful dipping and drizzling sauces to impress friends and family.
This is an “eat what you make” night, so your sushi rolls will contain only your favourite ingredients! And to add some more fun to the night, a product specialist will be on hand to pair samples of beverage alcohol over the course of the evening.
